House of Surrey may be a new face on the home improvement scene but until now we were an acclaimed trade-only manufacturer of uPVC windows, doors and conservatories. For years after opening our first window factory in the 1990s, our family business kept a low profile. We concentrated on doing what we know we do best. We crafted high performance uPVC windows at competitive prices and delivered them on time, every time.
For a decade, we were probably one of the best kept secrets in the UK home improvement market. Until 2006 our phone number was still ex-directory! For years our name was known only to dozens of satisfied trade installers and passed around the industry by word of mouth to others who appreciated the reassurance and value that our craftsmanship gave installers and their customers. Peace of mind borne of always doing what we promised.
Since 2006, we've quietly extended our product range and built our customer base. While many trade manufacturers win and lose customers with equal regularity, our approach is different. Installers seem to like how we carefully nurture a loyal installer base and avoid customer churn. The result has been that some installers were politely turned away, then waited patiently until we had the capacity to service their needs. That's a compliment if ever there was one - especially when the new customers bring millions of pounds worth of business to us.
A successful journey in windows and doors
Our success stems from a long-term plan for managed growth and a sustainable business based on quality, fair pricing and satisfied customers. We've always enjoyed low staff turnover too. It gives us one of the industry's strongest, most capable, and most experienced teams.
From our start as a single-site window manufacturer, our business has evolved into two state-of-the-art factories employing around 125 people. We have one factory at Pitstone, Bedfordshire (uPVC products) and another at Grendon Underwood, near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire (aluminium products, uPVC vertical sliders and composite exterior door manufacture).
